Verification & Trust
Anyone can post a product listing. What tells you whether the business behind it can actually deliver is verification — and on Xenie Global, every supplier carries a visible tier so you know exactly how much diligence has already been done before you send an RFQ.
Unverified
A supplier has registered on the platform and submitted baseline business information. Their listings are visible, but no independent checks have been completed yet — treat these the way you would a new lead from any channel, and lean on RFQs, samples and references before committing.
Verified
The Xenie Global team has confirmed the supplier's business registration (GST/company incorporation), matched the declared factory or office address, and validated at least one point of contact directly. This tier tells you the business is real and where it says it operates.
Gold Verified
Everything in Basic Verified, plus a facility visit or third-party audit report on file, a documented export history (shipping bills, prior buyer references), and current certifications logged against their profile. Gold Verified suppliers have earned their tier through evidence, not tenure — and it's reviewed periodically, not granted once and forgotten.
Verification status is never for sale and doesn't change how a supplier is ranked in search — it's purely informational, so you can calibrate how much extra diligence (a video call, a smaller trial order, a third-party inspection) makes sense for your situation.
Inspection
A verified supplier and a well-made shipment aren't the same guarantee — batch-to-batch quality still needs to be checked before goods leave India. Pre-shipment inspection is how you catch a problem while it's still fixable, instead of after it's cleared customs on your end.
- AQL-based sampling. Inspections follow standard Acceptable Quality Limit sampling (typically AQL 2.5 for general merchandise), checking a statistically representative sample rather than every unit — the same standard most global retailers require of their suppliers.
- What gets checked. Product specification and workmanship against your approved sample, quantity and packing accuracy, carton markings and labeling, and function/safety testing where relevant to the category.
- When it happens. Typically once production is 80–100% complete, so any rework is still possible before the shipment is packed and booked with a freight forwarder.
- Who does it. Inspection can be arranged through Xenie Global's network of third-party inspection partners, or you're welcome to commission your own — either way, the report and photos are shared with you before the shipment is released.
Logistics
Getting a container from an Indian factory to your dock involves more handoffs than most first-time importers expect. Here's the shape of it.
Ports & routing
Most export cargo moves through Nhava Sheva (JNPT) near Mumbai, Mundra in Gujarat, or Chennai on the east coast, depending on the supplier's location — with air freight via Delhi or Mumbai for time-sensitive or lower-volume shipments.
Typical lead times
Production runs 2–6 weeks depending on order size and category, plus 3–5 weeks ocean transit to Europe or the US East Coast (shorter to the Middle East and South Asia), plus customs clearance on your end. Air freight cuts transit to days but at materially higher cost.
Incoterms, in plain terms
Most Xenie Global suppliers quote FOB (Free On Board) — they cover cost to load the goods onto the vessel at the Indian port, you arrange and pay for the ocean freight, insurance and destination charges. CIF (supplier arranges freight and insurance to your port) and EXW (you handle everything from the factory gate) are also available on request.
Consolidation for smaller orders
If your order doesn't fill a container, LCL (less-than-container-load) shipping consolidates your cargo with other shipments through the same port — the practical way to keep MOQs accessible without paying for space you don't need.
Compliance
Paperwork is what actually gets a shipment through customs — on both the Indian export side and at your destination port. We keep it attached to the product, not something you chase down after you've already paid a deposit.
- HS codes. Every product listing carries its Harmonized System code, so you can confirm duty rates and any import restrictions in your destination market before you commit to an order, not after it's on the water.
- Certifications on file. Where relevant to the category — ISO 9001, GMP, FDA registration, BIS, or category-specific marks — supplier certifications are logged with issuing body and validity, visible on their profile.
- Export documentation. A standard export shipment comes with a commercial invoice, packing list, certificate of origin, and bill of lading; suppliers handle Indian export filings (shipping bill, IEC-linked documentation) as part of the deal.
- Your side of the border. Import duties, local registrations (such as FDA, CE marking, or country-specific labeling) and destination customs clearance remain the buyer's responsibility — our team can point you to what's typically required for a category and destination, but always verify current requirements with your customs broker before shipping.
